Homebound Insurance Exchange

Member‑focused protection, built by a reciprocal community

Why We Partner with Homebound

Homebound Insurance Exchange is a Texas‑domiciled reciprocal insurance exchange created to bring the idea of community back to insurance. As a reciprocal, policyholders (called subscribers or members) band together to share in the benefits of strong risk management and stable underwriting. Homebound focuses on straightforward personal property coverage and leverages an experienced managing partner to deliver consistent service and capacity.

Products We Can Place with Homebound

Homebound’s current portfolio centers on essential property protections for individuals and families. Availability varies by state and eligibility.

  • Homeowners Insurance
Protection for your dwelling, other structures, personal property, and personal liability, with options for endorsements to tailor coverage to your home and lifestyle.
  • Dwelling Fire (Landlord / Rental Properties)
Coverage for non‑owner‑occupied residences and certain owner‑occupied risks that need flexible dwelling protection.
  • Manufactured / Mobile Home Insurance
Purpose‑built coverage for manufactured homes with options that reflect unique construction and placement considerations.

Looking for something specific (e.g., short‑term rental, seasonal/secondary home)? Tell us about your property and we’ll confirm current eligibility.

Where Coverage Is Available

Homebound is launching in Texas with expansion to additional states, focusing initially on the South‑Central U.S. Rollouts and state filings change over time—Insurox will verify availability and forms during quoting.

  • Live states today: Texas (initial launch)
  • Planned expansion: Additional states in phases (subject to regulatory approval)

Ask us about your address—we’ll confirm eligibility and timelines.

What Is a Reciprocal Exchange?

A reciprocal is an insurer owned by its members rather than stockholders. Members exchange contracts of insurance with one another, facilitated by a managing attorney‑in‑fact. Key implications:

  • Alignment: Surplus is retained for the benefit of members, supporting stability over cycles.
  • Governance: Members may have certain rights tied to notices and participation.
  • Service model: Day‑to‑day operations are run by an experienced manager on the exchange’s behalf.

Insurox works with reciprocals when their appetite, pricing, and service model fit our clients’ needs—particularly in markets where capacity is tight and stability matters.
